Some plans on creating a Social network

Yesterday I met Sultan, who does a business in China, and talked about uniting the political active and interested in this sphere youth around the world, who thinks that Kyrgyzstan is his/her motherhood. The first step for this could be creating social website, like facebook or myspace, where there will be the main aim - to create a team among the participants. Does anyone have any ideas concerning this?

There are 2 types of community that you might consider: (i) open communities such as facebook, myspace, etc.; and (ii) closed (or “gated” ;) communities.
If security and privacy are important to community members, then you should consider a gated community such as RubberSquid where community members can remain unidentified (if that’s what they want) as well as secure.
Probably the ideal is to have two sides to your community, an “open” side and a “gated” side.

Squidblog, thanks for your reply. I am not still sure if the network should be gated or open. Opennes is good in terms of popularity of the website, and that other ‘nonmembers’ could read everything we discuss, but some people would choose to be confidential, as so as their ideas too. So, may be it should be like facebook, where not everyone can check the profile of the person.

I’m just checking the RubberSquid project, getting registered, so, if I like this idea, it’d be a great opportunity to me to research it.

What do you think about?
